Chad Leising

Determined, fearless, and unstoppable are three of many words used when Chad Leising is spoken of in the off-road world. Chad is about as grassroots as it gets, but his story isn't one you'd expect. Unlike many of his competitors who come from generations of racing, Chad grew up playing community sports and didn't step foot in the desert or even own a dirt bike until his later years in high school.

"Baseball was my life, it's all I did and my motivation came simply from a few individuals who told me I'd never be good at it. I knew what I wanted and worked hard for it. It only fueled the fire that eventually got me on the varsity team my sophomore year."

Chads' work ethic and off-road interests developed his junior year in high school and both continued to grow as time passed. In 2005, Chad with motivation from a few of his close friends, scraped together enough cash over a 3 years period to build a 1997 Ford Ranger pre-runner. This caught the attention of a group of guys making a lot of noise in the off-road scene. As a result of hooking up with Dirt Alliance and joining their efforts in the growth and progression of off-road, Chad landed himself a feature part in the full length off-road DVD "Change", as well as numerous publications around the nation including Off-Road Magazine.

In 2006, Chad sold his then infamous Ranger in hopes of starting an e-commerce business while attending business school. During his leave from off-road, a good friend invited him to a local CORR race in Chula Vista, CA. Amazed at what he saw, Chad's motivation for a career in off-road was kick started. Within the year, Chad was approached with an opportunity to invest in the first vehicle built for a new concept short course off-road class. Seeing it as a chance to pursue a dream, he bought the first Superlite truck from Full Potential Off-Road.

" I figured this was my chance...putting every penny I had ever saved into a dream was one of the hardest things I've ever done. I only had one shot to make it happen and although a lot of people told me I couldn't do it, I knew the best thing to do was to use their words as motivation, here I am today."

At the age of 20, Chad independently raced and funded his Short Course program in the Dirt Alliance SxS series where won the 2008 Super Lite Championship in his first season behind the wheel. In 2009, he joined the prominent Hart and Huntington Team under PMG and competed successfully in the Lucas Oil Off-Road Racing Series. While still in business school and remaining predominantly self funded, Chad has driven the #17 Superlite to 15 podium finishes and ended the 2009 season placing 2nd overall in the SuperLite Class.

With the 2010 season around the corner, Chad plans on continuing his journey in the short course scene for years to come. With his mindset, motivation and skill behind the wheel, Chad will continue to pose a major threat to competitors in any class he competes in.
